Obituary

Ismael Gonzales, age 87 of St. Anthony, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at his home with his family surrounding him.

Ismael was born on June 20, 1939 in Agualeguas, Nuevo Leon to Emilia Cantu Gonzales and Luciano Gonzales. He met Rebecca Sanchez and they were married on March 9, 1959 in Tamauleipas, Mexico. Together they were blessed with 5 wonderful children.

Ismael enjoyed camping, dancing, baseball, corn hole, fishing, bingo, poker and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by the love of his life for the last 68 years, Rebecca Sanchez Gonzales, his children; Martha, Maria, Ismael Jr., Luciano, and Leticia, 15 grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luciano and Emilia Gonzales, siblings, Juan, Hector, Aljejos, Elena, and Elvira.

Funeral services for Ismael will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 2:00pm. Visitation and viewing for family and friends will be Friday, August 21 from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm and Saturday form 12:45pm ~ 1:45pm all at the Fall River Funeral Home, 230 East Industrial Park Road in St. Anthony. Following the funeral Ismael will be cremated and laid to rest in the Riverview Cemetery next year with family.
